You are good at telling stories and mixing in some wisdom and humor.

Keep it up, amingo!

Oh Jesus wept!!! The ONLY redeeming medical condition in old age was when my thyroid stepped up for attention and I lost 30 lbs. but, ALAS, the second, not minute but second, my condition was cured, 30 lbs came rushing back like claimed orphans. Ya know what?? I’ve outlived my expiration date by 20 years anyway so it’s who the fuck cares. I will eat WHAT I want WHENEVER I WANT. Nah nah nah nah nah🎶🎂

You go, girl….

Oh, and by the way, forgot to mention that I was eating my breakfast of corned beef hash on toast as I wrote that previous comment. Talk about grease!

Loved this column, but want you to know you have nothing to feel guilty about - other than stealing your daughter’s candy. The delight we take in grease is hardwired into our DNA. Anyone for a Greasy Tony’s cheesesteak and a chocolate egg cream? I’ll be right there with you. And that’s without the anticipatory doobie!

Thanks….I don’t feel THAT guilty…. :)

It's a sad moment when you realize can't eat like a teen anymore and that yoga pants are not your friend. When your "behind" morphs into the shape of your task chair, you have to seriously reevaluate your life choices. Ha ha

To be fair..there is something about naming candy 'fun size' that makes it permissible to have more than 1. And she wouldn't have ate the Almond Joy anyway. Not a kid favorite. Now THAT'S guilt free eating.

IMHO, the perfect candy bar would be dark chocolate Almond Joy, (or Mounds with almonds)….

Ah - a wonderful ode to Greasy Tony’s and priceless pic! When I got together recently with some of our brothers, GTs of course was one of the topics of conversation. I also share your love of chocolate, Richie boy, although fortunately far more in form of ice cream (of course Death by Chocolate my fave) and shakes than candy. But have many memories of stumbling down to Greasy Tony’s at night to get one of their wonderful chocolate sodas - probably grease in there since so good. And as someone who also migrated west, agree with you on the “fine” dining west of the state - you cannot find a better bagel or pizza than in Jersey. Thanks for the memories.

My favorite ice cream is…..all of them! Never had a flavor that I didn’t like…
